Is there anyway to have the longer text messages come together, today I received a 2-part text, with the second part first. Is this a known issue.

Depends on what carrier it was sent from. Some have a limit on the number of characters per text.

Verizon texts will always come split up, and I think AT&T texts will as well. There isn't anything you can do from your phone, and it just happens that sometimes your phone receives them out of order.
