I installed Snapchat a few days ago. I added some of my friends and use it alot. Today I get a message from Verizon stating I've used 95% of my data and still have 11 days left in this cycle. Does Snapchat use that much data??

You can check it's data usage by going to Settings > Data Usage and then scrolling down to find it in the list, which is sorted highest to lowest in terms of usage in MB. I cannot think of any reason it would use a lot of data, however I don't know how much data you have available, etc.

Snapchat likes to autoload videos in the background

under the data usage you can limit snapchats data.

I run it that way. only issue is you have to keep snapchat open when you send a video.

snapchat and instagram are data hogs. with all those videos.

The latest Snapchat (possibly only the Beta version?) allows you to disable automatic downloading by enabling the Travel Mode. Not sure how much it helps yet...
