So, how soon until price drops?

I can't think of a worse environment to be launching a luxury consumer good, and initial sales at this point have reportedly been substantially below the S10. How soon might we see price drops or incentives if, for whatever reason, sales continue to do comparatively poorly? I'm, uh, asking for a friend!

The price drops will be more in terms of inflated trade in offers, accessory gifts and carrier BOGO offers. Actually straight price cut without any conditions probably a while away. May be they will add some offers here and there in terms of $50 - $100 for models that aren't selling well and need some push.

It annoys me to no end that single line users never get discounts on phones from carriers. Only the BOGO stuff.

Meh even for the family lines it's no good IMO. Add new line and free in the form of 24 monthly bill credits crap. I know majority don't mind that but I got no time for the crappy bill credits systems on any thing I buy

I think they just simply overpriced the S20 series and that includes the base S20 model which starts at $1000. I'll go with a price drop in a couple of months and even if the Corona Virus did not hit it still would not be flying off of the shelves bc of the high pricing.

If you use other means to purchase as opposed to retail stores, like a swappa.com or eBay, you will find the price has dropped.
I purchased an unlocked regular S20 brand new for $775 + tax from Swappa and then I won a mint S20+ for Verizon from eBay for $760+ tax.

S20 Ultra is $200 off right now at Best Buy. Straight up discount, price reduced to $1,199, one payment. Or you can have reduced monthly payments to pay the $1,199.
Verizon and AT&T versions.

On a serious note, if you are considering carrier versions there’s going to be better chance of discounts in some form or the other.

Hey,

Verizon bad a pretty good deal. $700 off with a trade in. I traded in my Note 10+ and now I pay like $14/month for the S20+ on Verizon. AT&T wasn't able to unlock my Note 10+... I guess something was wrong with the IMEI number (paid the phone off a day prior to unlocking) so it was useless to me at that point.

Not at BestBuy near me.

It's on the website. I can add it to my cart and pickup in store. I'm in FL, but i'm sure its nationwide.

Basically the S20 Ultra at the S20+price.

S20+ is $250 off. But only $100 is instant. $150 are Verizon monthly credits, which suck. The S20 Ultra, if you choose to pay monthly, you get the $200 upfront, then pay monthly on the $1,199. Much better than credits.

I would probably pull the trigger on the S20+ deal if it was $250 straight discount like they have for the Ultra.
