I heard in a few early reviews that there was some lag.. So you people that have had the S4 for a little... See any lag or stuttering? (please be honest and don't lie if you did see some.. I am curious if it does hesitate or lag)

Thanks in advance :).

Appears so.

2nd blip is the phone stutters. Not the super smooth experience Jellybean initially delivered, but the stutters are very very slight, only during some actions, but hard core Androidians will notice, regular folks will not, for me, i THINK i can live with it, as this phone is perfect asides from those TWO things....

Good info thanks! I wonder what is going on with the lag. I have seen it in too many posts/reviews for it to be a coincidence.

The phone does lag which is pretty ridiculous. I'm expecting some custom Roms like clean rom will help or fix that. It is noticeable to anyone but especially noticeable to iPhone users. I'm using an AT&T version right now until I get a Verizon version through work. Touchwiz is seriously in your face these days in an obnoxious way but fortunately you can turn alot of it off. Keep an eye on the XDA forums for improvements to the lag.

I hate hate hate the animation stutter. That system tray stutters all the time...grr.

That's just from 1 topic. Then you have a few reviews (namely AC) stating the same. Which is unfortunate, but alas.

Offenders seem to be the usual suspects: Notification Bar, Gallery, Camera... occasional home button.

...I mean.. no, its perfect. :-!

I'm on Verizon, so I plan in getting it regardless, but there is minor lag and stutters here and there.

Woah, awesome work with the time stamps. Much appreciated.

Yeah, there a few stutters and hiccups from time to time, but the overall experience is fantastic.

Animation is choppy when I'm unlocking my phone (using Nova launcher instead). There is slight choppiness when I'm scrolling down a long menu list (contacts, SMS history), but once it's fully loaded, it scrolls back and forth smoothly.

Other than that, not bad at all.

Yes it lags some and definitely stutters. Very apparent in sms. For a top tier device with a snapdragon 600 it should be like butter throughout. Just goes to show how overbearing touchwiz is.

I am sure this will be fixed with an update. Give it a few weeks.

Yeah hopefully an update will fix it. I'm definitely still gonna get one.

Giv3n the performance difference between the production S4 and the HTC One, its probable that theyre not using a standard s600..if there is a difference in "smothness" its likely to be fixed in kernal source as the differences between a s600 and whatever this is...are nulled out..ill take the stutters for the added performance in the meantime

Some of the time stamps you provided -- I didn't see any lag. Like 2nd video .

It mostly seems to be the notification bar, but is the home button supposed to be faster than that?
On my Evo 3D I press home and it takes like a good 1-3 seconds to get back depending on the application.

I don't think you guys know the definition of lag... lol. If you owned a Palm Pre, then maybe you know lag.
This is lag... Please tell me the GS4 doesn't do that, lol.
Palm Pre Review
2:01 - Loading the clock.
2:11 - Stutter when opening another app
2:28 - opening notes... lol.
2:48 - lol browser lag.

Of course, the fourth iteration of the Galaxy series shouldn't lag like that... but the clips I'm seeing are stutters that last a split second. Actual performance doesn't seem to be hindered.

I have videos of the HTC One stuttering coming out of card view (and Sense keyboard) and Iphone going into the search screen -- it stutters as well.

I consider lag to be anything other than silky smooth animations and something happening right when I press on an icon button, etc.

If it lags or stutters, performance is hindered. If it performed properly, it would be smooth. Even one spark plug misfire will throw a check engine light...lol.

Aww...the Palm Pre!! I still have mine in a box somewhere. Great phone...but yes...that phone was LAGGY!!! After watching this video, I'm not complaining anymore about the slight stuttering that my S4 has. :)

HTC One Honest Review
6:11 , 6:58 stutter

Just saying if you take your S4 back, you won't have many options for a SMOOTH and BUTTERY android phone.

Seriously considering it. Holding out hope an update rolls out to the ATT model soon.

You also complain about the S4 a lot. It's odd-- I would return your device as it seems to bother you.
