So I've had 7 replacement Fascinates that Verizon sent me and they all had some sort of problem. So they let me get a new one. Then that one had grainy lines in the screen so I went to take it back today because I was still in the 14 day return. They finally said you have had so many Fascinates why don't you just get a different phone, before they said I could only get the droid x or droid 2. So the fascinate was the best choice. Now they said I could get any phone but the Iphone. So I got the Droid Incredible 2, same size screen as the fascinate and soft buttons. Even swap too because I have a business discount on my account it was the same price as the SF. There are a few things I'll miss like the side scolling app drawer and the pull down wifi toggle and stuff. Overall Verizon ruined the fascinate for me, making me think it was the phone but really its there replacements. While I was in the store today I saw to other customers that were really angry because Verizon had sent them refurbs that were broken.

Something has to be done about there replacements. Anyway thanks for everyone that helped me on the Samsung fascinate. Now I'm be in the Droid incredible 2 forums.

My first fascinate had the vibe motor quit working on it. They sent me a refurb which I was not real happy about but it was very clean and has not had any problems. Sad to hear that you had that many bad ones.

Congrats on the Dinc2

I can't believe you had problems with that many phones! I played with the DInc2 today. It seems like a really nice phone.

Yeah I can't believe I did either. yeah the DInc2 is a nice phone is fun and has some nice features. I hear battery life is amazing. Yeah one of the 7 replacements had a perfect screen, but then it wouldn't update to froyo. So my only choice was to send that one in. Anyway now I'm glad all that happen, but I hate that it made me sick of the Fascinate, I really loved it in the beginning. I even waited for froyo, I checked the forums for news everyday about the update. Anyway Thanks everyone. I can't believe Verizon cut me a break. The screen on the Dlinc2 doesn't look as colorful but the whites and the text look a lot better. Its going to take a lot of getting used to the power button is in a different place and the soft keys are switched around, and for some reason the charger is really hard to pull out once its plugged in to the port but other than that I love the phone.

Post an update after you've been using it for awhile and let us know what you think compared to the Fascinate. Well, at least compared to a normal Fascinate experience if you can figure out that that is. :) I'll be curious to hear about the battery life too.

Ahhh, the nostalgia... I remember wading through about 5 of these threads a week over on the BB Storm forums. Glad to hear that Verizon finally got you a new phone.

I had the exact same issue with the refurbs not updating to Froyo, but I got one that works perfectly now. Sorry to hear that you had those issues.

I'm at this point, I'm on my 3rd and the inconsistent battery life is just driving me nuts. some days I'll use it all day for music, text, web and IMs and it'll last 10+ hours, other days, I let it sit on my desk and check a couple emails and its half dead by noon with barely touching it. Makes no sense, I love the screen but I'm so sick of the issues with the phone and particularly the battery.

Yeah I've had that problem too, with the battery. Like one day it will last fine the next day it dies like crazy all of a sudden. idk All the android phones are bugging me as of right now though. The Inc2 has great battery life. Just having a problem with not getting emails, and call quality. Like when someone talks I can hear the speaker kinda buzzing like its up to loud but the voice doesn't sound that loud. I think htc,Samsung,Motorola, all of them should spend more time testing these devices. Instead of trying to one up each other and get out a device as fast as they can. All these phones need more polish.Apple has it right in my opinion they only come out once a year. Anyway that's my 2 cents.

Yeah I was at the store last night looking at the DInc2. It seemed ok, but they are just sending me another Fascinate to try. Even though the Fascinate's battery life sucks, call quality has never been an issue with it. So I guess I'll just run through a few more of these before I lobby for a different phone.

I agree, its like they are pumping out way to many phones to fast with to many variables. Much as I dislike the iphone craze it does seem like they have a lot less issues.

I picked up my Samsung Fascinate in nov during VZW black friday weekend sale for free.I never had issues with screen having the stupid lines in the screen or grainy lines or any screen issues until after the froyo update and my battery before the damn froyo update was ten times better it would make all day and all night no matter how much i used it or had something running including live wallpapers now the thing wont make a day.
I called Tech over the weekend even offered to send him pics of my screen and what my phone had been doing said they had a few due this but mostly refurbs not new so i was like hmm ok..then hes like lets do a rest and we did and ***knock on wood*** its not done it since, he also told me that if ur phone is less than 6 months old ur suppose to get a new one its its over 6 months then its refurbs but that also depends too he said it wasnt no guarantee there,
BUT the battery still sucks!!!
Love the phone but really glad i do have an extra upgrade waiting just not sure what i want and i have no real use for an iphone when i have a 64g ipod touch.

Wait for something newer or more powerful. The Iphone 4 is just more polished. The more android phones I get the more I see that apple has polished there product and android just poops out phones as fast as they can. Now I do love the fact that you can change almost anything on android, and widgets and all kinds of other stuff. Every android phone I get it seems like I'm sitting waiting for a patch for them to fix something. The Fascinate was a great phone with 2.1 but man I had no idea 2.2 would mess up so much stuff. Like battery life, lines all kinds of stuff it messed up. Turn on wifi with the fascinate battery is gone in like 3 hours, after froyo. Anyway Yeah its looking more and more like my next phone will be the iphone. At this point I want a phone that works, like its supposed too. Its sad that android is going the microsoft route. Giving android to any company, htc, samsung etc...Android is really starting to lack polish, its getting worse not better. Every android phone that releases has problems. Iphone has antena problem but thats pretty much it that's apples biggest blunder with the phone. I am willing to wait for phones if they would put more polish in there phones. The orginal droid was very polished in my opinion, then after that the droid x and droid 2 all sucked in terms of quality. Lets hope google starts making these companies spend more time testing and making sure everything works right. In my opinion they need 1 year to make sure the phone is ready for prime time. Not 6 months or less like most android phones seem to be getting now.

Your preaching to the choir man. As someone who is only 4 months out of his Blackberry and on Android for 4 months. I've done a ton of research since getting my Fascinate and feel the same way. they are pumping them out to fast and to furious. I think that's why Froyo was so delayed coming to the Fascinate and possibly they rushed it out because of pressure because the battery life is just horrid. The Thunderbolt was delayed, the Charge was delayed. I think they are finding out that they are going to fast and at some point they may have to scale back and build something better.

At some point one of these manufacturers, HTC, Samsung, Moto, etc is going to realize why the iphone is so popular and yet so exclusive, because its exactly as you said, its polished and refined and when one of them slows down and does this with 1 or 2 android phones they'll have a winner and will dominate the Android market IMHO.
