I'm having the same frustration with other parts - for example, entering in user id and pw for flickr, fb, etc - I'm used to being able to just hit the <enter> key and it 'sending'. I had to keep closing the keyboard and touching 'sign in' or something.

Not a big fan of that...

i don't see any feature where it looks like you can enable it. i tried looking under settings. seems like that would be a logical feature

Did you check settings in both the messages app and on the keyboard settings? I'm missing the old AOSP keyboard that I had installed on my 2.1 rooted Hero. But this one isn't as bad as the Hero...

I looked too under main settings (language and keyboard) - nothing there. That seemed like the most logical place because I need it in more than just messaging. I'd like to be able to hit <enter> to move from form field to form field (username, pw, sign in).

what i do is press the back arrow key and the send option will popup.

have you guys tried going into the android market? i've found some cool keyboard apps. ultra keyboard and better keyboard. i've been playing with the EVO all day. i haven't had any problems using the KB....just keep playin with the phone. learn curb

i just sent my buddy a text....my send button is right on top of the KB to the right...i don't have to close out the KB to send it

im not sure about the stock app. but if u use Chomp it gives you the option to make the enter button your send button
