Yes but I'm sure that the edge will close more than the S6 so it makes sense to get more storage for the base model.

For $100 more and 32GB of extra storage space it would be worth it.

Each model has 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB
I think though the S6 Edge at some places may start with 64GB

Correct both phones are produced in all three storage levels, but the trick is your carrier might not carry all three.
