I know this isn't my thread but I'm new as well. Can I ask, how do you change the default apps? Like I have chompsms and I don't know how to turn off the default messenger. Help please?

Go to... Menu... Settings... Applications... Manage Applications... All... Scroll down to the Messages app... Select and clear the default. The next time you go to use Chompsms you should receive a popup asking to choose a default messaging app...... mark Chompsms as the default.

Thank you! First day on the job, as it were, and I haven't figured out all the bells and whistles yet. Do you know anything about chompsms? I was told I could set sms tones per contact with it but I can't seem to figure that part out...

Try an app like "Ringo" it will let you set different sounds for individual contacts. Also turn off the notifications from the stock messaging app otherwise you're gonna get duplicate notifications from Chomp and the stock messaging app.
