So, now, with the "new data plans"/tiered plans, you lose your corp/work discount?

So with this new tiered crap, your 20% work discount is useless unless you get the big MB package?

Wonderful, raise my rates, lower your product value, and raise prices essentially 20% from what I pay now?

Go VZW!

I'm certainly not happy about the new tiered plans, but I don't see why this will have any effect on corporate discounts?

Regardless of whether my plan allows me "unlimited" or "2GB" of data, I'll still get the same 20% discount on whatever plan I'm enrolled in.

The leaked VZW docs seem to indicate otherwise. At least from my reading, it seemed to say that you would get that discount for a $50 or greater data plan.

They will be changing the corporate discount so they will double screw you and I easily use 5gb without tethering and watching video, they give us netflix, hd youtube, and hbo go and expect us to pay 100 a month?? I have never imagined switching from Verizon but they day they stop unlimited in a few years I will go to the nearest unlimited carrier which will probably be sprint who has better phones too!

I would have to believe corporate discounts on unlimited plans will be grandfathered. Maybe this again is just for new subscriptions. One of the only reasons I stay with Verizon is because of the corporate discounts.

exactly--most, if not all, of what's getting bad press is concerning new customer pricing.
of course--this doesn't make it any better & i'm still unhappy about it. but it softens the blow a bit to current customers.

Corporate discount isn't part of the contract and subject to change at any time

Am I Eligible for Special Discounts?
If you're a Postpay customer, you may be eligible for a discount if you are and remain affiliated with an organization that has an agreement with us. Unless your discount is through a government employee discount program, we may share certain information about your Service (including your name, your wireless telephone number and your total monthly charges) with your organization from time to time to make sure you're still eligible. We may adjust or remove your discount according to your organization's agreement with us, and remove your discount if your eligibility ends or your contract term expires. In any case, this won't be considered to have a material adverse effect on you.

My question is, what about the mobile hotspot? If I want add the mobile hotspot after the trial period ends, does that also mean I'll have to get a new plan in order to add it and lose my grandfathered unlimited plan?

I was thinking I might, but definitley wont if that's the case.

Most likely since they said there it's bundled with the data and there wouldn't be a separate add-on. They'd pretty much be doing what AT&T did when the got rid of unlimited plans.

Sprint has corporate discounts too. Didn't used to, but they do now. Mine is 23%

They say that current 20% discount is on the primary line data only. I currently have 20% off data on both of my lines. I think this refers to business accounts, not corporate discounts applied to personal accounts.

Sounds like you've lucked up since the corporate discounts should only be applied to the primary line iirc.

It's not often that existing customers of a business get better treatment than potential customers.
Usually the longer you stay loyal, the worse you are treated.
This is a nice reversal of that. It gives their core customer base a reason to stay with Verizon and not defect to a competitor. Sweet.

Sure, let the newbies pay for my unlimited data. :p
