Since we get the Samsung chip instead of the snap dragon I was wondering if it will work with Lte here in the states. I haven't heard anyone talk about this.

My understanding is that it will and that when our LTE networks are updated, we don't have to buy new phones.

They have done this before in US with Note 2. It came with Exynos everywhere including US and supported all LTE bands here. They went with snapdragon again in S4~S5, Note3~4 mainly because of LTE-A supports. But now they said S6 is ready for all carrier LTE bands. So it should be fine.

So does that essentially mean we will be able to buy an unlocked GSM version, & it work with LTE on AT&T, T-Mobile, etc??
