So this is a weird one

Hey guys so I just got the M8 yesterday from Verizon (part of Edge up lol) and last night before I went to sleep I set up a pattern unlock. This morning I got up and went to use my phone and it is asking for a password. I obviously don't know the password because I never set one. I tried my google password and it didn't work. Has this happened to anyone else and is there a known way to fix this?

Well to get back into the phone make sure you have a network connection and use your Google account info to unlock. If it is still not working even with network and your Google info, factory resetting the device should get you back in. Having only had it a day you shouldn't be loosing much. Once you're back in and everything I'd run some tests to see if it is going to happen again. Personally I haven't heard of this happening before so if it is happening to other users it isn't wide spread.
