So this is for sure coming out on At&t?

Numerous posts from at&t about carrying Nexus Google+:

"We were waiting for that question since it is the most frequent request we have seen since launching this page on Google Plus. The answer: We have nothing to announce as of right now."

"No news on the Galaxy Nexus"

"telecommunications is a competitive industry"

"Thanks for the honest feedback. We are not trying to be secretive and we do hear the requests for the Galaxy Nexus. In the meantime, we have a very diverse portfolio of Android phones and have been first to launch many innovative Android devices like the Motorola ATRIX, Sony Ericsson Xperia, LG Thrill and of course some of our latest LTE enabled Android phones like the HTC Vivid and Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket."

"Apologies, but we do not comment on possible future products."

Anyone want to take a crack at reading between the lines?

My crack at it is this. They know people want it, there is a timed exclusive, and they don't want to ape sales of their other android devices right now. So my guess is they will eventually carry it but won't be in November or maybe even December. They also may wait for an HSPA+/LTE version which could take many months depending on if Samsung builds one and or the exclusivity of the LTE version on Verizon.

I am going to get either the Skyrocket or the OG SGS2 sometime in December, and if the Galaxy Nexus becomes available before my 30 days is up I will probably trade out for it, if not then I guess it wasn't meant to be...lol.

Or other newer phones like the Skyrocket will have ICS, which is confirmed for Q1 2012.

.. i would take that with a gain of salt.. samsung has a HORRIBLY reputation of being WAY late with updates (even confirmed ones) than they say... and they have straight up canceled 'confirmed' updates before...

IMO IF you want a phone thats gonna say current with updates (for at least your contact lenght of 2 years) you really only have 3 options..
1) hope and pray the community for the device you pick is fast moving.. doing this you will have to flash custom roms and such
2) buy a 2 iphone.. (they have supported all there devices with the latest firmware for at least 2+ years usualy longer)
3) Buy a GOOGLE phone (not just android but a nexus device.. something put out by/for google) they get the updates first and so far have been supported the longest of most/all android phones.. OUTSIDE of the community..

currently i have a Captivate.. and alot of the time.. i'm hating it... lots of issues.. most i think are hardware..gps.. my capacitive buttons suck.. my back button works great... some times.. other times i have to hit it 20-30 times for it to see that i pushed it at all.. Its laggy.. not sure if its a software with (think so) or what but some time sit just straight up stops responding.. for a good 20 seconds then takes off working again.. flashed different roms and some are better then others.. But i get tired of flashing new roms every few weeks...

I've been wanting to get a new phone.. and my contract is up and i can get one any time.. but i dont want to get one thats just gonna be killed off (really all galaxy s phones are dead as far as samsun is concered IMO) in just over a year.. so that is stopping me from buying anything but a google phone (galaxy nexus)..

I have no doubts that my captivate will be running ICS at some point.. there are alpha builds out there now...but it would be nice to know that the designers of the device are still interested in it...

the skyrocket would be the phone i got.. but i dont want to rely on samsung to 'leak' builds so the community can try and get newer firmware versions running.. and i dont think we'll be seeing any more updates from them.

and btw i bet the community has a ICS build for the skyrocket before samsung does =)

The ICS confirmation came from AT&T. I agree. You should never expect anything more than what your phone has now.
I have 2 lines. I'll just use one for the Skyrocket for LTE and the second for a Galaxy Nexus. I'll have to import it.
