So This Is What I Know So Far

Ok so what I've gleaned from searching forums and such is; that first and foremost, I miss my HTC EVO "Why must you be out of stock, why?".


Secondly; this device is so new that there really hasn't been enough time for people to have any thing helpful out yet (eg. Still in dev phase).

Third; IDK about anyone else but the rooting methode listed using SuperOne Click v.2.3.3 did not work to root my device. As it kept hanging when attempting to load Superuser. However v.1.7 seemed to root fine. Except I then could not access recovery w (pwr+vol dwn) then I found this to be common issue. Which brings me to...

Four; There seems to be alot of issues with CWM after rooting the LS840. I found that using rom manager would take you to recovery. However that leaves you with thw problem of have to actually be using the active phone. I see somewhere that it may be possible to access recovery by choosing the yes option at the factory reset prompt. Also it freezes when attempting to reboot from CWM recovery. I find that when this happena ot has already processes tje actoons commited while in recovery. So removing then replacing the battery should provide a stable reboot with all actions saved. Also I do not know if other recoveries will work on this device.

Thia is really all I have found out. As again I am new to LG devices any input is much appreciated. I don't have alot of knowledge when it comes to things like AOSP, which devices use it instead of miui, even perhaps what the diffence between the two is. Nor a working knowlege of the adb.

would also like to know if there are other devices using similar code. Or if roms for a similar device cam be pprted to the viper successfully

but i eo love to tweak with android. So comment input any wanton ramblings are greatly welcomed. Thx and I look forward to any new developments concerning this device.

I'm doing a LOT of digging around with this phone and am hoping to have a stable recovery and, at the very least, an alpha CM9 port running within a month's time.

I'll keep everyone posted, but make NO promises at this time, due to the fact that I barely have any real time to put into this..

I too would like to do some work on exploiting this device unfortunately with it being my primary comm. I really have to refrain for fear of complete destruction. If you do get a good working exploit. Please share I am quite unhappy with this device so far and it seems that many agree as no one is working on improvement. I a wait with anticipation... also a good hotspot unlock would be awesome. Lots 0 Luck
