So wait they will have tiered pricing?

hmm.. Just read that again and it sounds like it will be after TBolt. Look at the word usher in bold, it means guide. Means future 4G plans :D

"ran Shammo, Verizon’s chief financial officer, said that the launch of its 4G services on new devices—starting with the HTC Thunderbolt—will usher in a new “tiered pricing structure.”"

Verizon: HTC Thunderbolt coming 'very shortly,' LTE tiered pricing too | ZDNet

If they do I won't be buying the thunderbolt. If they make it anything like the plans for the 4G modems it will be a complete ripoff. 10GB for $80? Why pay more to get less?

"But if you take it one step further, and you think about what consumers can afford that smartphone, what consumers can afford that higher end data plan, it is interesting. Because, as I said at the Investor Day, the way I look at it is we have a very big opportunity at Verizon Wireless because 67% of our customers are either feature phone or multimedia phone. "

That's nice...they figure if you have a smartphone, then what the hell, you can afford whatever they want to charge you...

But did Verizon confirm that they will be switching? I sent them an email and they said they have no plans to change their data plan. I don't know how credible that is though

Can't you just update the phone with out updating your plan? I still have an Alltel plan with Verizon phones and would like this one just not sure how they would change a plan like mine though.
