so what happens if I want a note 8 when they come out but I have a 2 year contract with my v20?

Thats fine, life goes on. I will make the best decision forme when that time comes. I may just keep the v20 for a longer time since it has a removable battery and accomdates an additional sd card which is all I need.

If you like the V20 you have no reason to jump anytime soon unless you want to.

The past 2 days I am having trouble with my v20. Texts won't send all the time and people can't text me. She with calls.

My fiance has an S7 and hers is fine so I'm pretty sure it's not the provider.

This is exactly the same thing that happened to me with the V10 after the update! Ugh......I want my note 7 back!

Exactly why I buy my phones outright and use the prepaid service which is significantly cheaper in price. Also, buying the unlocked versions allow you to change carriers as needed. I can sell my phone on Swappa for current market value and then upgrade anytime.

Between paying off your V20 and the $$$ for a new S8 you could be looking at over a grand (!!!). Thats nothing to sneeze at.

Here's what I would do... go through the various trouble shooting steps and procedures to try and re-gain your battery life and text messages (if you haven't already). Clear cache, memory, delete un-used apps, scrub through permissions and even a factory reset if thats what it takes. Hopefully you can fix whats gone wrong with that latest update... or at least buy time for S8 discounts and perks to start rolling out. The S8 phones are still new enough that there are no deals and discounts yet.

FWIW Verizon updated their message+ app a couple months ago it became unstable on my V10. So I deactivated it and switched to android messages and it works much better. I never once thought it might be the phone... but it could have been for all I know.

Good Luck!!
