I was hoping the big lead up to the announcement with all the leaks would mean we could order ready much rid away but I'm not seeing any way to get it yet?

Mainly I'm looking for an unlocked/unbranded AT&T compatible variant at full price. Come to think of it I haven't seen prices either?

To build up expectation and salivation, so you won't hesitate when it's finally available. If they just suddenly announced, "The G4 is in stores now", many people would say"Oh, okay", and go back to watching TV.

As for an AT&T compatible version, the European versions of most phones are. Band 17 4G is probably the most important thing. (Most phones coming out these days are "world phones" when it comes to 2G - voice and text.)

These dates are always up in the air. I wouldn't worry about it too much. It will come when it will come.
