So why hasn't the Note 2 seen many software updates?

You know this is still one of the best phones out even though its a year old. I can't seem to grasp why this phone hasn't seen any software updates like 4.2. I know there skipping it for 4.3 but it's been way to long. I'm not holding my breath for 4.4 and even if it could run the OS we wouldn't seen it for a long time. Sorry for the rant I just expected more from Samsung. Seems like they forgot us.

It was the same for the GNote 1 and that phone had flaws that needed to be fixed, so it was really frustrating.

With the GNote 1 we had to wait on the release of the 2 and then the passage of a little time and I fear that's whats going to happen for the GNote 2 as well. Really the only reason I need an upgrade at all is to fix the little bug that makes me have to re certify SwiftKey after every reboot. Very annoying.

My Note 2 works just fine without the need for an update. I've had far too many issues with updates screwing up my phones/tablets so I'm in no mood to break what isn't broken.

I'm starting to see more and more 4.3 ROMs coming out for the GNote 2 so hopefully that means something official will come out soon. But then again, I've been running 4.2 for a while and no updates soooooo......

My next phone will be a nexus...I love Samsung but I'm tired of the waiting game.

Agreed it runs smooth on 4.1.2 but it would be nice to see something in a years time.

A SwiftKey fix and having to restart my phone when the screen won't rotate is a pain.

I also hope any of the Note 2 successors will have the pen the ability to tap the back and home buttons and work. Drives me nuts while using the pen to have to be force to use my fingers for those 2 buttons.

I am expecting a quick next update as soon as Note3 is officially released. Reason is to make Note2 and S3 compatible with Galaxy gear. My 2 cents

Have you tried quick gestures. Hold the button on the pen and draw a < on the screento go back one screen. Drawing a ^ on the screen pulls up the menu.

Thanks for the reply JP007. I do use quick gesture but would like to be able to just touch a Point on the screen without pushing the pen button and doing a gesture. I use the Spen a lot and feel they missed the boat on not making the lower buttons compatible with the pen. I still love the 2 and still feel it is the best phone out on the market as of today.

Guysss aren't you forgetting the main reason your getting a phone is not because its updates. Well I know I got my phone because of how cool it already is. I really don't need much from updates. The only ONE thing that is a must is the App to SD function and that is all. At least for me.

Man, these are the exact same complaints I have! Especially the screen not rotating. I have to restart my phone at least once a day.
