Soda in Speaker

Just today, I opened a can of soda and the thing exploded. Most of it got on my case, but some soda apparently went through the speaker. Now, the speaker sounds a bit funny. Is there anything I could do to fix this?

I've heard of people putting their phone in rice to get rid of the moisture, but I don't know if that will take away the stickiness.
