Android Central Question
I'm not sure if this is an issue with my android version (7.0) or specific to the Galaxy S8.
I have two separate keyboards that I like to use, one for English and one for Japanese (I know there are keyboards that support both, but usually one of the languages is not as good).
However, I noticed recently that whichever keyboard I haven't used last, will get disabled and removed from my keyboards that are available for changing on the fly. I need to go deep into my settings to "Manage keyboards" and enable them again, which is very annoying. When I was first using the phone, this didn't seem to happen, and I could freely switch back and forth whenever I wanted by just hitting the keyboard switch icon and choosing the keyboard I need.
I use Shimeji for Japanese, and SwiftKey for english. If I have last used SwiftKey. When I go to use Shimeji after a few hours, it will no longer be available to switch over, and vice versa.
If I select the default Samsung keyboard, then I lose both after a little bit of time.
I suspected battery monitoring as I heard this was a problem for some others, so I have set both of these keyboards as exclusions from the battery usage monitoring, they still get disabled periodically.
Has anyone else come across a similar issue?
