Soft Reset as good as Hard Reset?

Just wondering if the soft reset option which says it is resetting the memory is as good as the old battery pull? The battery cover is very difficult to pull off so I'd rather not do a hard reset if the soft reset is effective at clearing the memory.

Where are you seeing an option to do a soft reset? I've never seen that on an Android phone.

What you can do is hold the power button in and select the option to restart the phone. This would accomplish the same thing as a battery pull. A factory reset will wipe all your apps and data returning it to he state it was in when you pulled it out of the box.

That said, you shouldn't have to be doing battery pulls and restarts on this phone. If you are then the next step is to list the 3rd party apps you've installed.
