Software Issues??? Display & Power Down Problems - HELP PLEASE!

Timeline:
1) Phone works fine. Never had any issues.
2) I went on a cruise. Plugged phone in to charge. (I use the manufacturer's power cord that came with the phone.)
3) Now I have problems.

Problems:
1) Phone display reads charging even after the phone is unplugged.
2) Phone battery display always reads 100% even after using it all day.
3) When I power off, the phone restarts. It will not fully power off unless I take the battery out.

Note: The phone battery still charges and depletes normally. I'm able to go a full day to a day and a half between charges. The issues are the displays.

Try booting into the Recovery menu using these instructions: http://www.technipages.com/how-to-hard-reset-samsung-stratosphere.html

But instead of choosing "Wipe Data," select "Wipe Cache Partition." This will clear out any problematic temporary data in the system cache. You won't lose any important personal data.

Thank you for trying. I was able to follow your advise perfectly. However, all of the same problems still remain. It did not help.

Although the battery reports that it is still charging normally, it may be worth trying a different battery.
