Software Update Failed

Every time I try and download GB and then install it says software update failed. When installing it gets 1/4 of the way and stops. I'm not rooted and i have stock Froyo. I understand there have been some people getting the same problem but is there a fix for it or any suggestions? Thanks

I had the same problems with the soak test... I started a thread here. I also had the z4root. Nothing I did would fix it. I unrooted, uninstalled to list a few. I had to flash back to a stock 2.2 sbf. You should find all the links and info there to flash back and then install the 2.3 update manually. Hope this helps

well if your non rooted i've read on a few forums that people were not clearing their caches before updating and that was causing some issues.

I have the same problem. Was rooted but unrooted and never deleted bloat. Used for screenshots. No luck after 7 attempts to install.

Yep, made the same thread about this problem on my chick's DX last night... she's not really giving a crap about GB and I did the manual, rooted GB update on Friday so I'm just leaving her phone on stock Froyo.

Fail x3.....stock Froyo, non-rooted, clean cache, stock launcher. Still have ClockWerk though. WTF???

After trying everything I finally flashed SBF 2.3.340. OTA installed first try no problem thank god.
