software update issue

Hi everyone. Any help would be much appreciated. After a OTA software update, my phone starts to reboot but as soon as it does, it just shuts off and stays off. I've tried holding down the power button, but to no avail. I'm not able to turn it on again without pulling the battery. Once I do, it boots up just fine but get a "software update was interrupted" message. Has anyone else had this problem? What can be done to resolve this? Also, is there a way to prevent the phone from automatically checking for updates? I have an AT&T SM-N910A with version 6.0.1. Thank you in advance for any advice you may have.

Have you already tried wiping the cache? https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-28932. (The T-Mobile steps should work for the AT&T version as well.)

If that doesn't help, see if you can reinstall the firmware using Smart Switch.

Thank you B. Diddy. Just cleared cache. Hopefully this will help next time it tries to update. If not, I'll look into reinstalling firmware as you suggest. Thanks again.

As for the phone not automatically checking for updates, you can disable that in your 'About Phone' section (the part related to software updates).
