HTC often make a point of trying to get the latest Android updates to their flagships within a certain period, but I've heard nothing around the HTC 10. Has anyone heard any intention from HTC to make monthly security updates like the Nexus devices, or update to Android N within a certain period after release? My M8 did get Marshmallow pretty much within the stated timeframe but I would have thought they would have made a bigger deal around this with the 10 since the previews for N are already out.

I haven't heard of any quoted time frame regarding the HTC 10 when it comes to software updates. The only phone that I have recently heard them mention a specific time frame for updates was the A9 and that was 15 days after each update a Nexus device gets. Other than that, I haven't heard anything. If you get an unlocked phone then I wouldn't be worried. A carrier phone may cause a pause for concern but at the same time HTC has been the best Non-Nexus OEM lately when it comes to updates, even when it relates to carrier phones.

Be worried...

I haven't received a security patch since the 1-1-16 for my HTC M9.

If you buy the useless Verizon version then you can forget, buying the pure HTC 10 you will get software updates in timely manner like the unlocked A9.
