Received a software update today. Approx 17 .5MB. Any idea what's in the update.

I think it's the first update HTC released, not the Android 4.2.2 update.

If you already had an update installed on your device, check the Android version on the phone.

Just got the 1.29.1540.17 update.
17.55MB and not a clue about what it changes.
It only says system enhancement.

I just got the same one. 32GB unlocked model. I'm prepared to be enhanced.

I really wish they had better release notes.

It's just a firmware update to 1.29.707.17, perhaps in preparation for the 4.2.2 base? lol

Haha more than likely! I cant wait for my att model to get 4.2.2. However I am still enjoying the phone as it is! Nova launcher and all. :)

Mine shows 1.29.401.12 and is up to date, 32gb unlocked version (UK).

4.2.2 is not going to be a massive leap from where we are now, couple of minor enhancements and the ability to map the menu key function to the home button instead of Google Now, and that's about it. It will be nice when it comes, but I'm not exactly trembling with anticipation.

If it's just a couple of minor updates, it should not be taking this long. I am looking forward to an improved Bluetooth stack.

To be honest I'm trembling because I'm not sure if the update will ruin the excellent user experience I have until now.
I don't want to see any lags, bugs, worse battery life etc.
The changes are minor and although I like them (quick settings toggles, battery percentage etc.) I'd prefer stability over them.

The changes I would tremble with anticipation would be more HTC One specific (like a camera software update) and not Android updates.

These system updates should not be buggy, as Android 4.2 debuted in November and 4.2.2 came out in February IIRC. We're running an old version of the OS with its own shortcomings that should be getting fixed up shortly. It's never going to work poorly, though. I wouldn't make excuses for HTC, they could release it relatively bug free and very quickly if they prioritized it enough.

Well even if it is an old version, the changes are pretty minor and right now the One runs like nothing else. G4 with the new version suffers from the occasional lag, so I don't mind waiting for something that wouldn't alter the current behavior.

Did anyone notice any change or improvement in any functionality after the update ?? I am seeing a red tinge around the visible borders/corners in the photo which was not before. Attached the pics, first is in normal mode and second in HDR mode. You can see slight tinge around doors and frames.
Does anyone saw this or is it with only me. Any help ??
