What did this latest software update do? I can't see any changes. Maybe the Wifi and bluetooth issue?

Galaxy Note Pro 12.2

I didn't get an update, but I hope it's an update to resolve the wifi problems..

From Peaches Galaxy Note 3

My Wifi is better connected, and I can use blue tooth now with the wifi. That was a real problem. Before when I would use my Logitec keyboard my Wifi would sometimes not connect very good and would drop me. Now it stays connected and is a stronger signal. I am not close to my router ,and that is another problem for me. But not any more. Also whenever I would pull up the task manager to see what was running, the stock music player would always be the only thing in the active applications. It would reload even if I closed it . Now that is not an issue. The update took about 20 min. I was thinking that maybe this update came through long ago and I'm just now getting it? Just wondering....

I just received the update myself, so I've not been able to investigate. At least it was a smooth update!

Everything worked GREAT! ---Until I installed the update yesterday, now I have no wifi! Is there a fix for this?

Have seen other reports of this and the fix to wifi connectivity appears to be a factory reset which will force you to reinstall your applications.

Personally, with all of the personalizations I've done to my rooted note pro I'm just not in the mood to bother with any updating until Samsung goes beyond 4.4.4. It just doesn't seem to be worth the trouble at this point.

I downloaded the update (a newer verison of 4.4.2) and after a seamless upgrade everything seems to continue to work well. The WiFi and BT work fine as they did before the upgrade.

Much if this update has some of the attributes of the new software in the new note 4 phone. A few weeks ago my note 10.1 2014 edition got this update. I'm waiting to see if my note 8 gets it.

Can you elaborate on that? What attributes specifically ? Not asking for all but is there anything that stands out?

Things that I'd like to see on the Note Pro pulled from the Note 4 would be:

  • Quick selection of text using the S-Pen while holding down the pen's button.
  • Photo Note capability to convert photographed notes to editable text.
  • Direct integration of action notes to s-note.
  • Smart Select clipboard
  • Multiwindow improvements - swipe from corner to enter window mode.

Does the Note Pro update have any of these features?

I don't have any of the Note 4 S pen functions on my 12.2 after the recent update.

Only change I see is when it first boots up the graphic is rock solid, no flicker like before, and it completes startup faster I think.

Your S-Pen quit working after the update?

I think he's ok, he's just responding to my question . . . did the improvements in S-Pen capabilities make their way into the latest update for the 12.2 . . . as his response states he doesn't have any of the Note 4 S pen functions . .

I'm really hoping that at some point a major software update for the Note Pro will occur that brings the S-Pen improvements seen on the Note 4. Right now the updates that we are receiving are small incremental ones which aren't worth my time applying since doing so means having to reestablish root.

Ah, OK. Missed the "Note 4" part.

Another new app is Pen.up. I think that may have been added with a Galaxy App update. Not really sure what it does!!
