Solar Red U11 on sale on Amazon

Good news for those who were still on the fence. Too bad I pre-ordered mine from HTC instead of Amazon simply because of the $50 discount. Now I'm getting it Friday instead of Thursday had I ordered from Amazon. Sometimes good things do come to those who wait :D

My solar red is in transit but I paid 20$ for 2-day shipping. Amazon is 10$ cheaper and gives back 5% (30$) back to my card. Total 60$ cheaper for a phone that I will still receive on Thursday.

How easy/painful is it to return the phone to digitalriver? Return shipping might be around 6$. Total saving -50-54$.

For what it's worth to others - I spoke to htc agent and she said taxes and shipping are not credited back! That's 78$ for me. So overall not worth it.

But surprising as I didn't see this mentioned on the return policy on the site.

Not refunding shipping due to customer changing their mind I can understand. However, not refunding the sales tax seems illegal.

I get the shipping but I don't think they can't refund taxes; that sounds illegal. Here in Canada that's easily $100.00+!

Costumer care is wrong. I have returned my silver U11 to HTC and got full refund back. I paid for my return shipping but they refund sales tax. No retailer can deny refunding sales tax, they can charge restocking fee etc based on individual company policy. Bottom line don't listen to reps they are clueless and have less info than we have

Hmm tempting with my prime store card I'll get further 5% credit which knocks off another $30. Thinking to order from Amazon and refuse HTC package from FedEx. But thinking if it's worth the hassle rejecting package and trying to follow-up with HTC customer care on refund since they are horrible.

Man, that is really annoying, as I would have strongly preferred ordering from Amazon for all the reasons others have mentioned, but at this point it doesn't seem worth fighting with Digital River, and I'm not going to get my phone any sooner, either. I'll just consider it a wash and lesson learned to believe in the power that Amazon holds, and the lack of power from HTC's sales teams. As long as I get my phone this week and don't encounter any issues, I'm good.

Curious, how long did the entire process take for you? I returned my Amazing Silver; according to FedEx Tracking, it arrived on the 23rd of June. Still waiting.

almost a month and still waiting for my refund!!! if you paid with paypal expect to wait this long

Yeah, I see it too. Bummer.

Probably was a glitch on Amazon end since the other colors were all 649. So whoever grabbed from Amazon for that price lucky

Atleast the $50 off from HTC is still present if anyone wants to buy

I can't get over how pretty the red version is. In certain lights, it's just gorgeous and the colour is ever-changing. All of the colours are great!
