Hi all!
I have been trying to boot my S10 plus in Recovery Mode so I can clear the cache partition but no matter what I try, it just boots up normally. I press and hold the power and volume up buttons, tried volume down, release after vibration, hold them longer.. Still no recovery mode! Any ideas? Is there any setting that can be causing it to refuse to get into recovery? Thanks!

Ok tried the USB cable, still nothing. When connected to the PC it actually locked the PC while holding the volume up and power buttons. Also tried just the cable.
I see a small pop up on the lock screen that says [PDP] back up: fail setup - wizard [FINISH]
It is a snapdragon 855 device. I'm out of options.

Just tried to get in Recovery Mode on my regular S10 and same result with same pop up message. So it's an S10 thing, not just my S10 plus.

Just making sure you're following the right sequence? Also, the article mentions that some people may use USB-C headphones, maybe an accessory like that instead of the PC? Not sure if the update 'hit' the S10 or not since it's an older model, but on newer ones you may need to change the USB Mode/Disable 'USB Safe Mode'.

1. Turn off your phone.
2. Connect it to a PC via USB (not to the charger). (Or USB C accessory)
3. Press and hold down the volume up and power buttons and keep them that way until the device powers on.

What about booting into Safe Mode, does that work?

I have tried the USB cable with or without the PC. Followed the sequence just as described, tried different times to release the buttons, press volume first then power, reverse of that. Yes I can get the device into safe mode.

When you restart the device before the screen turns on hold the volume up and power until it goes to recovery, you're not releasing them correct?

Thanks for the info Mustang. Tried everything you mentioned. Still goes to normal start up. Tried disabling sound assistant since it configures the volume keys. But no difference. Is there any particular time the key(s) should be released or just keep pressing until the recovery screen appears. I've tried all ways, with or without USB headphones. There are 2 short vibrations before the screen changes to the Samsung logo. Other than that I wish there was more info I can offer. I've done this before, totally stumped by this issue!

Usually keep pressing until recovery, have you tried adb CMD with computer to get into recovery I believe u have to enable developer settings USB debugging

Turn the device off, be sure one end of your USB Cable is plugged into the PC / Laptop
Press Power + Volume up, While you press both Power and Volume up insert the USB Cable into the phone, then Keep pressed and you should enter into the recovery, You used to be able to do this without the USB Cable, but recent changes made you require to plug it into a device.

B Diddy and Mustang, the Bixby button method WORKED! went right to recovery mode. 👍🏻 Awesome. Thanks much. Lesson learned today. Did not need anything plugged into the USB port either. Knew came to the right place to ask!
Good to hear! I don't know this for sure, but it seems that the steps to boot into Recovery can differ even among variants of the same model for Samsung. Maybe the one you have is the Verizon variant (which is where I linked the steps that included the Bixby button).

Bixby had to be used back then
