Since getting a TBolt and using 4g all the time in the area I live, I have gone to not using the apps for things like Facebook, Google+, and Twitter. It seemed easy to just place a bookmark on one of the screens and use the sites that way. This has been working fine and also makes it easy to just go the actual desktop site. I am truly spoiled by 4g. What do you folks think of this method? Does anyone else use it? Any thoughts, comments, and or advice is welcome.

Yep. I have deep-sixed lots of apps because their web and mobile web sites were so good.

I use apps if they are available. believe it or not, I don't surf the net that much on my phone. I know I can PINCH and ZOOM, but I feel that the APPS are more optimized for the smartphone. Just like I wouldn't want to view a webpage on my PC using a Smartphone link.

There are many useless apps out there. I am about to ditch alot of my games I NEVER play (jewel, solitaire etc.), but I know as soon as I do that, I will want to play them.....I am such a 47 year old kid.

For most things, I too prefer to use the web browser (native Android stock one) instead of an app as full desktop websites work very well with LTE and the power of the Bolt (no performance issues)! It compliments my setup too as I highly restrict installed apps due to some having questionable permissions and potential performance issues (ex. always running in the background).

For easy access to favorite websites, I use the HTC bookmarks widget (list mode) on the screen just to the right of the home screen. I'll just flip over to it and hit whatever needed bookmark. When done, I just close out of the browser (which returns you to the bookmarks widget). If needed, I can easily clear cache, cookies and history for privacy and/or performance. :)

Thanks for the responses, folks. Good points and advice and all are taken into consideration.

I find myself using the websites more and more, simply because each individual app results in more "software update available" notifications than I care to deal with. It gets old having to install updates every other day.
