Some Basic Questions

Hello,
I am interested in purchasing a Galaxy Note. I am currently grandfathered in to an ATT Family plan, and I currently use an Iphone 3g.

My question is, if I purchase the non-branded phone from Newegg, how would I go about using it on my ATT plan if I don't currently have a SIM card? Very detailed instructions would be much appreciated!
