Some Notifications are Just a White Box

Since I upgraded to 5.0.1, many apps' notifications now appear as a white box rather than, for example, their logo. Fortunately when I swipe down, they then appear normal, as they did in 4.4.4. Is anyone else experiencing this? If so, is it a matter of developers being slow to update their apps for Lollipop? Or is this an OS bug that hopefully will be resolved in 5.1?
