I get vibrations from calls and text messages but I don't get vibrations from other notifications even though those notifications are displaying on my Gear S3. Is there a way to correct this?

On your phone open the Gear app. Go to Settings, Notifications, Manage Notifications and turn on/off the apps you want to receive notifications.

Let us know if this resolves your question.

I believe the watch will mimic whatever the phone app does. So if the phone vibrates when a notification arrives then the watch should as well.

Same problem here... Google rewards for example... get the notification on the watch, but it does not vibrate, so if you are not looking at the watch, its pretty useless.

And, the notifications are turned on, obviously.

Boy, it's been two weeks and no one knows of a solution. Perhaps someone knows where I can get support for this?

Samsung?

Haha.. JK

You have to go into the gear app on your phone click on the setting tab on to

Then click on notifications, manage notifications.

Anything that is turned off in that list will not give you notifications on the watch.

Yeah ;) I'll call Samsung after I'm done calling the Microsoft and Google support hotlines!

Seriously, I obviously tried managing this through my gear app but toggling an app does no good. Remember, the notifications are, in fact, being delivered to my watch, but, they are not vibrating for certain apps.

NOTE: I even tried uninstalling/reinstalling the offending app to no avail.

Maybe try your carrier? Maybe you have something wrong, I am pretty sure they are just going to do a factory reset of both the phone and watch.

Well, I can guess with the best of em but I'm hoping to find someone who knows how to solve this. I'm not a big fan of trial and error troubleshooting.

I have no problem with trial and error troubleshooting if the cost is low but a facory reset of a new phone is well over budget. Knowlege is power ... not guesswork.

Can you give us some examples of the apps you aren't getting the vibe for? Maybe some of us have the same apps and we can see if they vibe for us.

I am curious about this as well. One app I've noticed this on is MLB AtBat. I see no option in the app, or phone notifications or in the gear app to control vibrations

The problem is with the app performing the notifications. The app I was having problems with was the Yahoo Sports app. It was delivering notifications to my Gear S3 but those notifications were NOT vibrating.

Today, I was hunting around the settings for the Yahoo Sports app and deep in Alert settings is a toggle for Vibrate. Somehow, someway, this setting affects not only the phone but also the Gear S3. I have no idea how this got disabled (4 year old daughter maybe) but enabling it solved all problems.

So, long story short, if you are having problems getting notifications to vibrate on your Gear, check the app in question to see if it has a toggle specifically for vibrating.
