I purchased a Verizon android phone from the store about 6 months ago, and quickly decided I wanted to root it. After trying many methods like ODIN and the one click things, which didn't work, I decided that I should stop and try again when the developers have fixed whatever issue I was having with the root.
Knowing that I was not supposed to do any OTA'S, I stayed away from them. However, the messages quickly got annoying and at one point I accidentally accepted the update. My question is this: is it possible to restore my phone to the state it was at the time of purchase so I can try rooting again, or is it still possible to root even after the OTA. My model number is sm-n900v and it is running android 4.4.2, if that helps. I have access to a PC and am willing to loose all of my phone's data during format if it should come to that.
I understand that OTA'S remove the root partition, or something like that, so if I could just bring the phone back to the state in which I bought it, it should be fine right?
