sit back and enjoy my tale and hopefully someone can help me figure out what to do.

ok, i got my phone towards the end of march with android 2.2 installed by default. was very nervous about rooting my phone and attempted to do all the research i could. flash forward to yesterday. i rooted my phone without any problem at all in the morning. that nyte i was dying to play with my phone a bit and a friend of mine was showing me cyanogen7. so i backed up all my info using titanium backup onto the card. when i was installing cyanogen, i did tell it to backup my current rom and install. i ran out of room on my microsd so it didn't back up my current rom and it installed cyanogen. i started using cyanogen and found out i don't like it... but now i'm stuck and i can't get any other rom i've tried to install correctly or at all.

i've been looking online for hours as to how to:

a) reinstall the stock rom (rooted or unrooted, i don't care at this point)

or if i am stuck:

b) get access to titanium to restore my files so i can at least accept my fate and try to learn from it.

the reason why i can't install from the market is because the app is gone with cyanogen and if i try to download from the market website, it won't let me reinstall because it says its still installed.

any help is greatly appreciated!

i'm sorry all for freaking out. i've been at this for 6 hours and finally fixed it. if anyone gets into this type of situation, here's what i did to fix it:

i screwed up and installed the wrong RUU to get my phone back to an older unsupported version apparently because i heard my phone vibrate like its kicking on but the screen was utterly dark.

i found on another site the correct RUU and ran that. at first it failed but after i yanked out the battery and tried it again, it reflashed back to default froyo.

Glad you got working again.

If you want to re-root, check out Virtuous or Nothing Special ROM's they are plain stock rooted ROM's with the VZW Bloatware removed.

Also Skyraider is a good Sense ROM that has a lot of features that the Stock ROM does not have.

i might have to do that. ever since i got my phone working this morning, i can't start or update a lot of my apps, or they crash. basically i'm still being driven nuts by this problem.

Skyraider is the best Sense rom, IMHO. All the VZW bloatware removed and better than excellent battery life.

If you can live without Sense, CyanogenMod 7 is the best AOSP rom, hands down. Combine that rom with Chad's latest, and you'll get even better battery life than with Skyraider.

i can give it a try again sometime in the future, but with all the problems going on with my phone, i'm not sure i'll be installing any roms anytime soon . once things level out some i can give it a shot. my phone is currently rooted and i have a default back up on it as i've cleared out most of my microsd that i currently have on it and will definately upgrade that in the future. so maybe in the next few months i'll give it a shot again. i just need to get it stable first and backed up before i try again. thank you both for your help and advice! i'll keep checking back once i get things squared for better ideas for getting my phone working better/faster/longer.

Have you tried to reinstall any of the apps that are not working correct fresh from the market?
Any kinda of pop up box show when you try using the apps that havent been working correct ?
Also in cwm under the advance settings there is a "fix permissions" that may help .

i was able to do that with a couple of them, but some of the apps are system apps and wasn't able to get them working correctly so i ended up reflashing to the start. i haven't installed titanium backup yet on this build because i think that a good chunk of my files were corrupted before i started all of this mess.
