Something odd happening with Screen Lock

So I got this message today in notifications asking me if i wanted to unlock the phone if it's on me. I said yes sure.

Then I put the phone down away from me and had my wife pick it up to unlock it and she could. What gives?

I turned the feature OFF and she STILL could unlock the phone.

I restarted the phone to see and she still could unlock it. Ugh

Make sure that you did not enable that feature for wifi or Bluetooth. Those options give you the ability to have it unlocked without security when connected to a trusted wifi network or Bluetooth device.

Oh wait. I am wearing my Gear Fit 2 and did allow that. So I suppose if i turn it off for that device it will work.

Will do it later tonight.

Speaking of that wondering if I do that but leave the band on if it will still record my stuff and then download it later?

Yup, it should work just like it is currently. You will just need to unlock your phone via the method you selected(fingerprints,iris,etc).
