Android Central Question

Currently, 14.91 out of 16 GB is being used on my phone. The problem is, if I go into my settings and tap storage, then tap games, it says "No apps." The reason this is weird is because the games I have are on my SD Card, not my internal storage. This means my phone thinks that 5.9 GB of storage is being used when it is not. How do I fix this?

Even when apps are stored on an SD card files are stored on your phone. Usually only a portion of the app is on the SD card. So the apps are still taking up a huge chunk of your phone's internal storage.

This was why Google stopped supporting this feature in newer versions of Android. In today's climate, 16GB is really not enough storage for modern apps, which are getting bigger and bigger. Even 32GB is not enough. Most phones come with 64GB and 128GB these days for that reason.

Welcome to Android Central! Which phone? Remember that the OS and preinstalled bloatware typically take up around 6 GB on most devices.
