Sometime i get like a funny signal problem.???

I do hope someone can help on this.
I have it turned on 3G/2G as i don't have 4g as on PAYG.
When i listen to to people sometime they go very slightly quiet (can still hear them) and they sound like a Darlek,its the only way i can think how to explain it,this happens in my house when upstairs or downstairs and not tried is anywhere else.
The signal seems ok when i look like 3 bars or more,could this be switching between 2G and 3g why its up and down,i do hope someone can help as had the phone 2 weeks now.

I don't know what "like a Darlek" sounds like so, of course, I had to search for a recording. (I'm 75, but I'm still learning new things all the time, so thank you for making me learn what a Darlek sounds like, and how they do that effect.)

What you're hearing is called "going digital", and it happens when the signal is being mangled. It's usually due to a weak signal (probably on 2G, but you can call tech support for your carrier and ask if they're using 3G for voice yet, although it really doesn't matter), but it can also happen if there's interference - from another mobile close by or even from your own Bluetooth or Wifi signal. (When it happens, try turning first one, then the other, then both, off, until [and if] it stops - then you'll know if it's one of them.)

You could also just ask tech support (if you can define under what conditions it happens - a particular place, a particular time, etc.) why your incoming signal goes digital even with 3 bars of signal.

It's part of life, but at least it's better than when the signal goes digital on a CDMA system (there are 2 CDMA and 2 GSM carriers in the US) - that's enough to make some people seasick. I've been in bad storms at sea and as long as I didn't fall overboard, I was fine. But when a CDMA signal goes digital, my stomach gets queasy. GSM signals usually just break, but that "flutter" is also possible.

(Another possibility - notice if an airplane is passing [anywhere, not just directly overhead] when it happens. If that's the common factor, it's called flutter [strange, calling it exactly what it sounds like] and, again, there's nothing anyone can do about it. The direct signal from the tower and the reflected signal from the airplane are causing what, in optical physics, is called interference fringes. And as soon as the plane moves a bit the flutter will be gone.)

Hi,thanks for the reply.
That would of been a better way to put it like the Digital is a big scrambled but you can still hear the person and understand them,the signal strength is very good and tried it on 2G only and 3G only with the same slight problem.
I leave it on Auto (2G/3G) and i do have WiFi and i also get a lot lower WiFi signal in the house in some places so as for low signal on the phone that's fine and over 3 bars its just the case its like a bit scrambled at times,like i said i only had the phone 2 weeks so i just have to put it down to where i live i think.

Is this a Nougat problem again as read a nice few forums saying they have this problem.
