How tough is it to upload song files and make clips into ringtones on the One?

Pretty easy I'd say (most android phones are like this).

We also have the Zedge app. Free app to grab tons of free ring tones.

You can apply any song as a ring tone. No itunes needed. Just go into your settings or you can also adjust many from inside the app.

I use Ringtone Maker. Very easy to actually select the part of the song you want to use as the ringtone; then, it allows you to save it, and assign it to any contact in your list, or use it as your default ringtone.
