If you have removed the search bar located at the top of your screen and want it back - here is how to do it. (I removed it thinking I would get an extra row of apps..Denied, table for 1....it just displays the little dot menu that visually tells you what screen your on.) Posting this because normally, it wouldn't be such a pain to replace. This isn't a drag and drop widget.
To reinstate the “Search bar visibility” on your home screen, simply go to Settings > Apps. Swipe over to “All” and find “Xperia Home”. Now click on “Clear data”. When you do this the persistent search bar will be back.
[Note: When you reinstate the search bar, the home screen will return to its default state which means you will have to set up the home screen how you like it from scratch.]
