Sony Ericsson and Major League Gaming Announce Strategic Partnership Bringing Xperia? PLAY to Gamers Nationwide
Being the huge gamer that I am, I will always be ecstatic to see major companies sponsoring competitive gaming, just as Sony Ericsson has done in the past with GSL and now MLG. The partnership certainly makes sense from Sony's point of view- marketing their "built for gaming" phone with the largest, most successful competitive gaming league in North America, featuring live demos and contests at events with thousands of people in attendance and millions more watching online, most of whom will be within their key demographic(Males, 16-23).
As a loyal MLG fan who has participated in many events since 2004, I'm rather pleased with the money MLG will be receiving as well- though I'm also worried that a poor product will tarnish MLG's image, when, let's face it, nearly every smart phone produced by SE has been worthy of nothing more than my garbage can.
If you have anything to add, feel free.
