Sony music app v 9.4.9.A.0.9

When I insert a USB drive into the XA2 Xperia phone when I open the sony music app it seems to not recognise the external USB drive!

If you insert it does it give you the option to transfer files? Can you see the drive in your file manager app?

Yes, I can see it on both file managers that I have plus it's recognised on foobar2000 and also VLC, but on the folders option in the sony music app it only has the internal and SD drive showing.

I can search for individual files using file managers but it will only accept one file at a time and I get an option what to play it on and it plays if I choose the sony music app, but it isn't able to play a complete folder.
