thoughts on how this recent case from Sony can impact the Sony phones? I mean, jailbreak is the same as rooting imo, although I can see more damage done financially with a jailbroken console, i.e. Pirated games.

I'm playing it safe, no more Sony game consoles, phones, TVs, or stereo equipment for me.

Realistically phones are probably safer thanks to Apple's prior litigation, but IMHO Sony's behavior in this is rather appalling.

Look at Microsoft. Yes, they were not for hacking of the Kinect at first. But afterwards, took a step back to see what the community can achieve with the Kinect and perhaps it would lead to better development of future iterations.

In the end, I guess big business needs to keep an eye out for themselves when they see a threat.
