Sooooo where is the North American S3 update?

From my understanding of how it works on our side of the pond, we have to wait for the individual carriers to customize the new ROMs before we get our updates.

It looks like Samsung has pushed out the official update to all unlocked international devices. For me on AT&T, however, I have to wait for AT&T to edit/approve a new version before it gets pushed.

Please someone correct me if I'm wrong!

well this sucks. I'd like to enjoy some of those intl features. Telus Canada here.

I don't understand why Carriers need to get their hands on every single update that rolls out. Why can't the Carriers for example give Samsung a set of files that contains things that are needed for their network... and Samsung can just include those items when they push out updates themselves??? Things would probably work a lot better that way.

They would probably work better for you. I'm not sure Samsung would agree though. ;)

I bet we see it soon! But other than the brightness change what will we see? I haven't seen anything that awesome otherwise! Then again I am also not paying a lot of attention to it any how! :P

I'm returning my galaxy because I didn't get an update. I feel violated

Once someone hears there's an update, every one wants it. Just wait until the Gnex gets JB, all hell will break loose until the GS3 gets the update. If you want it faster than they give it to you I would suggest rooting and using a custom rom

Sometimes I don't understand the crying over not having the latest software right away. Obviously it would be nice... but it's not like our phone isn't working right now... or that we are missing some major feature.

If people didn't know about the update... they would be perfectly happy with the software they have now.
