Sorry if a newb quest: Why is a sent text flagged as draft?

Using default msg app in S20 FE 5G on T-Mobile, I sent a text to someone and its marked as delivered in the conversation but back in the list of conversations it has the word: Draft in bright orange under the time stamp.

FWIW, this is the first text I've sent to this contact.

How can a text be both delivered and a draft?

Also if its a clue, the colored circle with initial to the left of the name in the conversation list has a small dark blue circle over the lower right of it. Have no idea what that means.

Yes, still says draft. Only thing in the conversation was my outgoing message with the word "delivered" to the left of it.

Since then, I received a return text and the "delivered" status next to my text changed to "read". The conversation continues to have an orange word "draft" next to it and a blue circle inside the other person's initial circle.

Powering phone off and back on has no effect, not that I thought it would.

In the text field make sure you didn't hit the space bar otherwise when u exit it thinks your tried to exit out while in progress, when u exit that message it should say enter message like my 2nd screen shot otherwise it will draft it when in text field and space bar

I have a Group Conversation with 3 other friends that is ongoing and a few days ago it now says "Draft". I know about having a space in the message and such, but this is a group conversation that I'm sending and receiving messages on. I have no idea where the draft could be at this point. Is there any way to resolve? It's driving me batty... ;(
