Sorry the camera isn't working right now - huawei mate 9

Hi

Whenever I try using the camera in Facebook messenger it comes up with "Sorry the camera isn't working right now. You might need to close any other camera apps you have running"

This only happens when I try sending a picture to someone. I can use the camera when posting about my day or just usong the camera normally.

I have noticrd that it will work if I click it first, click back then go back into the camera but only for photos, it will go to record a video but then stop (all in messenger).

I have allowed all permissions in camera and messenger and even uninstalled messenger and reinstalled. I have also tried checking for updates on the phone but all is up to date.

My Mate 9 has started doing this too. I cannot take a photo using Facebook Messenger.

Also what's your image quality like when taking a photo through the sms message app?

I've found that resolution has now dropped right down to 480 x 640. It looks terrible.

I can't find a solution to either of these problems, I think they may be related.

I have tried a hard reset, changed permissions, deleted apps, looked for MMS photo resolution settings but can't find any, tried reinstalling messenger.....etc. etc.

Nothing is helping. People in the phone shop where I bought it 4 weeks ago have no idea either.

My camera in Huawei mate 9 has never been working for more than a week since I bought the device 5 month Ago... It is very frustrating how there is no response from the manufacturer or update to resolve this bog issue.. Not a good attitude of newly establishing name.. I have no more trust in Huawei

That is disappointing. Have you opened a support case? Just curious what firmware version you are running? I haven't seen this issue with FB Messenger.

I had the same facebook messenger problem.(just a white screen when trying to take a picture).. iv'e tried this many times. just now tried and it worked... maybe a facebook update ?
