sound increases and decreases at random times for random amount of time

Just this week I started having a problem. while listening to Pandora or Pi music player( plays music from internal storage on phone) the audio will kick down to about 30% of normal, just like when you're listening to music and a notification begins to play, then after the notification is done playing the volume will go back up to normal however when it does this no sound plays just the audio turn down at random times for random amounts of time. sometimes I can go several minutes without a problem and sometimes that happens every few seconds and the volume will stay down for random amount of time as well, usually between a couple seconds to maybe up to 30 seconds. I also have a text to voice application that while playing if some other application tries to play sound over it like a notification it will restart the paragraph after the notification ends. anyway the voice-to-text application has the same problem in that it will randomly restart the paragraph at random times.

all of this leads me to believe that there is an application on my phone that is making a silent sound at random times for random amounts of time causing these applications to quiet themselves or to restart the paragraph because some other application is demanding time on the audio card without actually playing any audio.

I apologize if this is long and drawn-out this is my very first post here and I wanted to make sure I gave as much detail as possible to make fixing this easier.

The phone is a oneplus two and I don't use this phone to watch many YouTube videos because I have limited data and I don't use Google Music either however if you really think that knowing the response from those two applications would help I can do some testing but it would be pretty mind-numbing at this point because I'm on a really slow internet but like I said there's three applications that are responding to this same problem the text to voice application I talked about is called at voice aloud reader

The reason I suggested YouTube and Google Play Music is that you should be able to test them out while in Safe Mode, since they are presumably preinstalled. Safe Mode can help determine if a 3rd party app you installed is causing the problem -- i.e., if the problem goes away in Safe Mode, then it's likely something you installed is the culprit. Google Play Music can be used to play locally stored music files, so you can at least test playback with that app. If you're concerned about data usage, just turn on Airplane Mode while you're testing.

Sorry it took me so long to reply to you I spent a couple days without having any problems and figured it might just have went away.

Anyway so without safe mode I do get the same problem with Google Play Music however on safe mode I do not have the same problem I'm not totally sure all of the things that safe mode does but apparently not allowing a lot of third-party applications is one of them however I'm not sure what to do from here

Ok, so that narrows the problem down to something you installed. Unfortunately, from here, there's no easy way to pinpoint exactly which app is causing the problem, unless you already have some kind of suspicion beforehand. You may just have to uninstall apps one by one until the problem goes away.

Sweet that sounds like fun im looking forward to it

I was looking through my options the other day particularly the developer options and I took an interest in the logs I opened up a bunch of the logs and looked through them not super sure of what it was I was looking for but I did notice the logs talked about some activity from what appeared to be applications,. what's the chances that I might be able to find the cause in one of those. I ask because as I look through them I wasn't really sure what I was looking for or even looking at so I'm hoping you might know a little bit more about what those logs contain than I do

Interesting idea, but I'm not sure if that will give you helpful information. Still worth looking into, though. You could boot the phone normally and wait until the next time the volume fluctuates on its own, then look at the log and show us a screenshot.

Alright I figured out what it was it was a keyboard application called ai type free emoji keyboard. Why it had access to the stuff it did in order to be messing with audio stuff I will never know however the paid version of that keyboard is the keyboard my brother uses and he has no problems with it so contrary to what I decided I would do I told myself that I was going to write a scathing review about the application when I found which one it was and I did do that but then I went and turned around and bought the paid version to see if that also has problems because I really like the keyboard
