Sound issues. Driving me batty!

I got this phone and any sounds that were downloaded on this phone are all coming up short. When I transferred my SD card I had a bunch of ringers and text tones and they play fine, all the way through. But any new sounds I download either from Zedge or any other app are not playing the whole way through. How do I fix that?
