Sound output from headphone jack

The sound coming out of my phone sux compared to the sound coming out of my wife's phone, both Sprint LG Optimus Gs. When mine is plugged into the aux jack in the stereo, in my Suburban or stereo at work, the volume on both the phone and the stereo has to be turned up all the way before it sounds ok, but itts not that way with her phone. I've gotten a sound boost app and that helped but hers still soumds better. Any ideas why? Our phones were bought at the same time and have all the updates that I'm aware of. Im not very tech-savvy, so be nice please! Lol

Possibly a bad phone. Did u change anything in the eq settings? I know sometimes theres a volume issue that can be resolved by restarting it. Also i noticed most of the times i plug my phone into an aux port i need to crank my phones volume to get any sound out if it. Thats with any phone and mp3 player.
