Sound Problem When Connecting to Speakers

My Droid X was working fine a few days ago but now when I plug my phone into my home speakers the sound only comes out of one speaker and is very muffled. I tried different speakers like using the tape player accessory in my car and hooking it up to my boombox and they all sound the same. My MP3 player sounds fine any suggestions? Have I downloaded an app that might have done this? Any hidden settings I accidently hit other than what is found in the sound settings? Thanks.

sounds like you have some dirt in the headphone jack receptacle. Try blowing into the jack and trying again, or wiggle the 3.5mm jack around when it is in the receptacle to get a solid connection.
