Hello,

I am planning to buy Samsung Galaxy S7. I liked the camera but before I take a move I would like to hear on sound quality. Is it any good? Better than S6? Please give genuine feedback. If its good I will but it otherwise I will wait for HTC 10

Sound quality is OK, just don't like how the speaker is positioned on the bottom. My finger blocks it when I play games. However, I head that the M10 is getting rid of the front speakers and also placing one on the bottom.

If you're talking about the speaker, it's not any better than the S6. Due to the sealing for waterproofing, it could actually be worse. That's according to MKBHD. When I used it, it wasn't anything special.

In terms of the DAC I haven't heard if it's using something different from the (U.S. Version) Snapdragon's integrated stuff, which isn't anything special. The Exynos models are known to use Wolfson DACs which are a cut above the rest. The Samsung models are underpowered and don't get very loud, as well as my Nexus 6P now that I think about it. I think they build the phones to fall in line with EU regulations and don't bother removing the limitations for other countries.

I personally use a dedicated portable DAC and AMP if i'm listening to music for a stretch of time.

The speaker is ok. Nothing to write home about

Better to wait for HTC 10?

I prefer the comparative amount of bass that I get from my Note2, but voice quality of phone calls is generally better on my S7 than on the Note 2. Just when I think I like the Note 2 better for music reproduction (I don't often wear earphones), I have noticed that there is more "clarity" or "presence" in music coming out of the S7. I haven't owned any other smartphones in the last 3 years so the Note 2 is my only frame of reference. :)

I've not had an s6 but I do have an s5 and s3 and got an exynos s7 a few days ago

s7 sounds a tad more bassier and louder than my s5 on external speaker and with mini headphones plugged in using blackplayer music app from playstore

I really like the black player music app. It has helped me edit some of my downloaded music to fix the song titles.

With Bluetooth and headphones the s7 is as good as device on the market...like the note 5, 6p, and the s6 I had for a very short time last year.
Speaker gets the job done like other latest Galaxy's. About the only disappointing thing about the s7 is the speaker sound quality....my family members have iPhone's and they blow it away also. As does my 6p.
I will say the earpiece quality is outstanding! Very clear and loud.. (I am w T-Mobile) but I'm sure the other carriers are equal.

What headphones and DAC do you use? I've been tempted to upgrade my audio solution while on the go?

Yes! On my long car ride today I noticed that clarity and the bass as well. I was hearing things in songs I have not heard before in my car. Very nice. I was not expecting that.
